Environmental Tips You Can Do Every Day
Going
green doesn't mean you have to go out your daily routine just to be able to
save up. There are certain things you can do every day that can very much
help you save the environment as well. If you really want to go green, you
don't need to change your daily routine all of a sudden. You can just take a
few things and go by each day. Here are some environmental tips you can do every day: Use A Power Strip Don't you know that at least 75% of your energy usage is actually consumed when your appliances are turned off? So, it would be best if you put all your appliances into one power strip so that you'd have an easier time to switch them off with just one click. This can prevent your appliances from draining energy when you are not at home. Use LED Lights This is probably the easiest way to save up on electricity. LED lights give out the same brightness without emitting too much heat. The heat emitted by light bulbs is what consumes energy, hence, using LED lights can lessen energy usage. Use Recycled Paper There are a lot of recycled paper materials already available in the market today. You can even find products that are made from recycled paper like tissue, paper towels, napkins and even printer papers. They are just as good as ordinary paper only better because manufacturers don't have to cut more trees to make them. Use Cold Water According to studies, around 90% of energy that is used whenever washing clothes is consumed by heating water. Hence, use cold water instead. You can go green by just letting your washer use cold water instead of warm because whether hot or cold, your clothes will still be cleaned and that's the ultimate goal. Open Your House There's a lot of energy consumed by heating or air-conditioning. It would be a lot more energy efficient if you just open your house up for the weather. Open a window or even the door, this will provide your house fresh air from outside. Drive Slow Did you know that speeding or any type of aggressive driving for that matter actually costs you at least 5 to 33 percent more on energy? Hence, slow down and take in the scenery to save up on your power consumption. These tips are not that hard to do. It simply proves that even just simple things can help all of us go green. |
