not a project of love. It was a project of hate. I hated every infinitesimal of it. I tried v hundred zillion dissimilar pigment stripping agents together with none of them worked. Some spots had peeled off effortlessly, spell other patches were clinging for dearest life together with refused to come upwardly off. before, before" pic when it was inwards actually bad shape. Anyway, after literally months of chipping away piffling past times piffling together with lastly finding Citri-Strip which seemed to work, together with tons of sanding, etc., I got the pigment off (and swore I'd never refinish slice of furniture ever again! Ha.). Now, unremarkably if you lot are exactly going to repaint a piece, you lot could exactly sand together with skip the whole paint-stripping step. But since the pigment was peeling completely off inwards some large areas, together with the woods underneath was totally un-prepped together with withal had glossy varnish of some form on it, I had no pick but to withdraw the paint. I sanded, primed together with painted it a creamy white color. It was lovely. However, I made a fatal mistake. I did non seal it together with I did non permit it cure earlier stashing items within it together with on the shelves. (Rookie mistake!) Now, upwardly until recently, I was left amongst a chipping mess that needed to live re-painted yet again. It's been living inwards our office/living room since nosotros moved into this house, together with it's been an unorganized mess of books together with clutter. This time, I knew what I was doing. This time, it was a project of love. I should every bit good shout out that when I inherited the furniture, the backing had been hideously wallpapered.
